Have you ever heard people say “Staten Island girls are trash”? What about Jersey girls? There’s been a long time debate about what makes both of these groups who they are; and yet while they each have such a hatred for one another, they are so much alike in so many ways. For now I’m just going to discuss Staten Island girls as I’ve already ranted enough about Jersey girls in my life.
When you think of a trashy person, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? There are so many answers to this question, but since this is a personal opinion, I’m going to give you my insight. Trashy to me means the following: lack of intelligence, dirty, loud, annoying, lack of good judgment, immature, insecure, dependent, fake, no class, and sheltered. At least these are the concepts that come to mind when I think of Staten Island girls.
Now you might be thinking I’m ranting so hard because I’ve had bad experiences with these women. But no, it’s far from that. This stems from a deep psychological analysis that sparked a unique awareness and introspection into such an extreme group of people. Being a world traveler, I have seen and experienced so many different cultures and people. What usually interests me is learning about the anthropologies of these different cultures and how they came to be. The reason that Staten Island girls are unique is their lack of a long-term existence. How did such an extreme breed of people come to fruition so rapidly? The answer to this will be saved for a later discussion. For now, I want to talk about why I think Staten Island girls are low lifes.
First, anyone that lives with their parents until they are 25 or 30 should be classified as a low life unless under some extreme circumstance (e.g., a sick or dying family member needs care, you just lost your job and move back home temporarily, etc.). To say that one doesn’t want to waste money by paying rent and would rather save money by staying at home shows a lack of independence over the price of a small payment for rent. Money cannot buy independence, but living away from home can.
Second, anyone that has a problem being told what to do and/or dealing with punishment/discipline for a bad behavior is clearly immature and a stuck-up brat. This is a very typical Staten Island girl mentality. Try telling a Staten Island girl what to do and if she doesn’t throw her drink on you, she’ll bitch you out. I’m not saying that women should be submissive, but men and women alike should not have a problem being told what to do. Tell me what to do and if I want to do it I will and if I don’t then I won’t. I will never not do something just because someone tells me to do it.
Third, living through a costume is a sign of trashiness. While almost all women wear some type of makeup, the extremes that Staten Island girls go through to wear makeup are mind-blowing. Never in my life have I had to wait 2 or 3 hours for a girl to get ready until I met Staten Island girls. I thought an hour and a half was a long time, which was pretty typical for a lot of girls, until I met Staten Island trash bags. I wish someone could calculate the amount of wasted time and multiply that times money that could be earned to see how much money is wasted from pressing on nails, getting manicures and pedicures weekly, tanning weekly, dying hair monthly, and putting on globs of makeup that only trick a guy into thinking a girl is good-looking.
