Wow. All I can start off with saying is "WOW!" Holy hell. Where to begin? If you haven't watched the first episode of "The Jersey Shore" on MTV and you are on this website, you have some interest in Guidos and need to watch the show. For those who have watched the show, thank you, I will appreciate your input any way. This show blows my mind and I truly don't know where to begin. I have a lot to say, but want to save a lot for later and let other people speak their mind on this one first.
For starters, this show answers a lot of the questions that we have been trying to answer here, all from the very first episode! Guidos do admit they're Guidos! Some girls actually like Guidos! If you don't know much about the show and haven't watched it yet, nydailynews.com described the promos for the show's cast as the "'hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos' who "keep their hair high, their muscles juiced and their fists pumping all summer long!" hahahaha. I mean, this isn't that far off from the show. The actors, and yes they are actors (have you seen MTV ever say, "This is real, not scripted, real people, we don't tell them what to say"?) actually come out and describe themselves as "Guidos and Guidettes".
I see dumb people. This is the message some people are conveying after watching the show. Most of the people with this reaction are Italians form New York themselves and are furious that "A few bad Italians are ruining the reputation for the rest of Italians". NYdailynews.com says, "Andre DiMino, the national president of the New Jersey-based UNICO, an Italian-American service organization, says MTV's use of the terms "guido" and "guidette" is offensive and has called on MTV to not air the series.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
